Anti-Doping
Commitment to clean and fair sport
VNPL is the official representative of USAPL and IDFPA in Vietnam and operates under a strict drug-free code. This policy explains how anti-doping is applied across all VNPL activities.
Policy overview
Anti-doping is at the core of VNPL's identity. All athletes, coaches, referees and staff participating in VNPL-sanctioned activities must comply with applicable WADA, USADA and federation anti-doping rules.
KEY PRINCIPLES
- ZERO-TOLERANCE: VNPL does not tolerate the use, possession or trafficking of prohibited substances or methods.
- TRANSPARENCY: Anti-doping procedures, test selection and sanctions are documented and communicated where appropriate.
- ATHLETE EDUCATION: VNPL encourages athletes to understand the prohibited list, TUE processes and supplement risks.
Drug-Free Commitment
All athletes competing in VNPL meets agree to comply with our drug-free policy. Use of banned substances will result in suspension and disqualification.
- Compliance with WADA/USADA prohibited list and relevant federation codes.
- Athletes may be selected for doping control at any VNPL-sanctioned meet.
- Violations can lead to retroactive disqualification, loss of records and competition bans.
Doping Testing
Athletes may be required to provide urine or blood samples at competitions. Refusing a test is considered a violation.
In-Competition Testing
Random testing during and after competitions.
Out-of-Competition Testing
USADA may test athletes at any time.
From selection to results
Selection
Athletes may be selected based on placing, random draw, target testing, or other criteria set by the anti-doping authority.
Notification
A doping control officer (DCO) or chaperone notifies the athlete and accompanies them to the doping control station.
Sample collection
Samples are collected, sealed and documented following WADA standards, with the athlete able to note any comments on the form.
Results & appeals
Samples are analysed by an accredited laboratory. In the event of an adverse finding, the athlete is notified and given information about their rights and appeal options.
Banned Substances
Full list available at WADA and USADA. Common banned substance categories include:
High-risk situations
- Unverified "fat burners" or pre-workout products purchased online.
- Supplements without third-party testing or clear ingredient labels.
- Medications obtained without a prescription or outside of standard medical channels.
Some prescription medications and supplements may contain banned substances. Check carefully before use.
Consequences of violations
- Provisional suspension from all VNPL-sanctioned activities while a case is under review.
- Disqualification of results from the event where the violation occurred, including loss of records and rankings.
- Competition bans aligned with federation rules and communicated to relevant bodies.
Appeals and questions
If you believe an anti-doping decision was made in error, you may have the right to appeal through the relevant federation process. VNPL can help direct you to the appropriate point of contact, but cannot overturn independent anti-doping decisions.
